Northern Clef records traditional hymns and carols from UK, Europe and America. Most traditional hymns are written in metrical stanzas or verses and relate to the seasons of the year: we have a good selection of hymns and carols for Easter, Harvest, Advent, Christmas and Lent.
We intend our hymns and carols will be used for both listening and singing. We have some selections in lower keys too, to assist where traditional arrangements prove too high for very young or older voices. We try to give enough space at the start and throughout the verses for the performers to breathe.
We aim to ensure that all our hymns and carols are easy to sing along to and can be learned quickly. We hope our collections of guitar and organ hymns are enjoyable whether you are using them for singing, worshiping or listening. Northern Clef hymns can be used to accompany congregational singing or solo or instrumental performances at weddings, funerals and services.
